Gods Path Tour
Book your hiking holiday!
Sentiero degli Dei, or the Path of the Gods, is one of the exhilarating walks that crisscross the steep slopes of Monti Lattari (Lattari Mountains) above the Amalfi Coast, on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Province of Salerno, in southern Italy. The spectacular beaches of the Amalfi Coast are but a few of the area’s treasures. Climb into the mountains for the tour of a lifetime.
Trail: approximately 7 km (3.5 mi), unpaved, above the Amalfi Coast.
A driver will meet you at your hotel and you will travel by private car or minivan to Bomerano, a farming plateau. With a professional hiking guide you will walk the trail for three hours, admiring stunning views, including a breathtaking gorge.
You’ll arrive in Nocelle, a tiny mountain village 420 meters (1,380 feet) above sea level. Your driver will accompany you to lunch in one of the few charming restaurants. Homemade food, fresh vegetables, cheeses and wine make for a lovely repast. Ask your guide to tell you about local culture and traditions as you relax together.
After a restful lunch, it’s off to Positano, and the descent, mostly, of many steps! In one hour you will arrive in this village in the hills that leads down to the famous Coast. Once a medieval port, and then a fishing village, the town became appealing to tourists in author John Steinbeck’s day, thanks to his rave review.
Your guide will show you the gardens, religious and historic points of interest, beaches, shops and galleries that make Positano a destination in itself. Enjoy some free time to relax and swim.
At day’s end, you will return to your hotel by private car or minivan in the late afternoon.
